REMEMBERING THOSE WE LOST

 

Patti Ann (Mays) Shepherd

Patti Shepherd, age 75 of Lexington and formerly of Noble, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022, at Norman Regional Hospital.  Patricia Ann Mays was born October 21, 1946 in Hamilton, OH, the 2nd of 5 children born to Dillard Lee Mays and Ruth Ann Rogers.  She was raised in Hamilton and attended school there, graduating from Dixon Israel High School.  By chance, she met a young serviceman named Charles Williams “Bill” Shepherd.   It was said he was a charmer, and when you know, you know.  They fell in love and were married on March 21, 1964 in Muncy, Indiana.   Following her sister, the young family moved to Oklahoma, settling in Okla. City, and later settling in Noble.  Together they raised three children, sons, Chuck and Bobby and daughter, Kelly.  For nearly 20 years, Patti worked in transportation as a dispatcher for Noble Public Schools.  Her greatest joy was her family, and she cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was a woman of great faith; a prayer warrior, a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Bill Shepherd; her parents, Dillard and Ruth Ann Mays and siblings, Billy Lee Mays and Robin Clouse.

Patti is survived by: her children, Chuck Shepherd and wife Amy of Noble, Bobby Shepherd and wife Chris of Lexington and Kelly Adams and husband Travis of Lexington; Sisters, Re Crank of Pahrump, NV and Debbie Bobbitt and husband Charles of Moore; 9 grandchildren, Weston Shepherd and wife Katie, Leigha Shields and husband Josh, Clay Shepherd, David Robinett and wife Whittney, Scott Robinett and wife Ashlyn, Kierstyn Buol and husband Brayden, Jake Holman, Cameron Shepherd and Joshua Shepherd and wife Hanna; 14 great grandchildren and two more on the way; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends. 

Graveside Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at the Noble IOOF Cemetery.  Send online condolences @ www.wilsonlittle.com.
